• We add -s on the 3rd person singular. E.g.

                       eat - eats
                       work - works

• Verbs that end in "-o, -sh, -ch, -ss, -x" add -es. E.g.

                       go - goes
                       wash - washes
                       teach - teaches
                       kiss - kisses
                       fix - fixes

• Verbs that end in "consonant + y" change into -ies. E.g.

                      cry - cries
                      study - studies

• Verbs that end in "vowel + y" add -s. E.g.

                      play - plays
                      pay - pays
                      enjoy - enjoys
